about Chris
Chris is a Contemporary Realist painter based in Tasmania, Australia. He studied at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence. He favours a naturalist style that blends the timeless aesthetics of the Old Masters with a Surrealist edge.
Chris’s paintings are now being collected and sold throughout Australia and abroad, reflecting his growing reputation in the national art scene.
His work has been recognised in several prestigious competitions: he has been a semi-finalist in both the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and the Lester Prize for Portraiture (WA),
In 2024 and 2025, Chris was a finalist in both the Portrait and Still Life categories of the Art Renewal Center’s (ARC) International Salon—the world’s largest and most respected competition for realist artists. He has also been a semi-finalist in the Almenara Art Prize in 2025 a Spanish based international art competition.
Several of his works have also been selected for inclusion in the Lunar Codex, a time capsule of cultural artefacts placed to the Moon.
