about Chris

Chris is a Contemporary Realist painter based in Tasmania, Australia. He studied at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, and has developed a style that blends the timeless aesthetics of the Old Masters with a Surrealist edge.

His work has been recognised in several prestigious competitions: he has been a semi-finalist in both the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and the Lester Prize for Portraiture (WA), and a finalist in the Portrait Society of America’s 3rd International A View of Self competition.

In 2024, Chris was a finalist in both the Portrait and Still Life categories of the Art Renewal Center’s (ARC) International Salon—the world’s largest and most respected competition for realist artists.

Chris’s paintings are now being collected and sold across Australia, reflecting his growing reputation in the national art scene. Several of his recent works have also been selected for inclusion in the Lunar Codex, a time capsule of cultural artifacts scheduled to be sent to the Moon in September this year.
